2005 marks the 3rd year of the VMI 3200m time trial. Each year many of the top distance runners in the state of Virginia come to Lexington to run a fast 3200m. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for those individuals who are competing at the Footlocker Regional Championships, an opportunity to race a fast 3200m a week prior to the event, thus better preparing them to do well in Charlotte, North Carolina the following week.
